"Do not fear, only believe."
Mark 5: 36
The most commonly repeated phrase throughout the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, is “Fear not!” or “Have no fear!” or “Do not be afraid!” or “Be not afraid!”
We live in a world that constantly tells us that money, job status, professional accolades, social status, physical beauty, and material possessions are most important and should matter most to us. This constant barrage of lies often causes us to fear the consequences of living or revealing the one aspect of our lives that should be paramount - our faith.
Jesus tells us to not have fear, but to have faith in him. For over 2,000 years Catholics have been following Jesus' admonition by being people who stood out from the crowd as people of faith... The Catholic faith.
While being tried and tested by the culture around them, these faithful Catholics remained unafraid of what the culture thinks, and steadfast in the one, true Catholic faith that makes them who they are.
"Change the culture, by impacting the culture. Embrace that which is bigger than you. He who gave you abundant life, and He who has called you by name, do not be afraid. Mute the noise of the popular, and embrace the counterculture of Christ's love and the message He offers you."

Whatever realm of life has made them famous, these Catholics were, or are, first and foremost men and women of faith. There is no shame in being talented, well known, or famous, but what makes these people stand out from the crowd is that they have maintained or returned to their Catholic Faith, despite the lure of fame that calls so many to abandon God, and seek glory in themselves, rather than in the God they should adore.

These Famous Catholics are meant to inspire us to stand out and be unafraid, as the Catholics we are meant to be, while seeking excellence in whatever pursuits of life we undertake.
“We need to express our faith publicly, boldly... This is how the devil bites his tail, when people start discovering that when Jesus says, ‘Be not afraid,’ he means for us to take it literally, and I am going to take him at his word.”
